Due to increased demands for feeding the needy, BOL has outgrown its current 4000 sq. ft. warehouse facility. Thanks to a grant from the Edyth Bush Foundation, we have secured an additional 6600 sq. ft. building to adjoin to our existing warehouse. This will better serve our operations of loading and unloading trucks, sorting, packing, storing and distributing goods. By adding to our working space, we will run a more efficient operation to better serve our clients. We are currently moving more than 300,000 pounds of food each month.
We are distributing boxed food to more than 3000 families each month and the number continues to rise. With our new addition we will streamline our operations, creating a safer working environment for volunteers, visitors and BOL staff. We could store larger amounts of disaster relief supplies from Feed the Children and other suppliers. It will be an energy efficient (green) structure with skylights and insulation. The additional space will enable Bread of Life to reach its full potential in Central Florida.
